Brian Charles Daley (December 22, 1947 – February 11, 1996) Brian Daley was a science fiction novelist who adapted the early Star Wars trilogy for NPR radio, as well as creating the Han Solo radio series. Beyond these major accomplishments, he either wrote or co-wrote many other titles, some of which are seen below.
Lucia St. Clair Robson and Brian Daley were happily married for fourteen wonderful years before he passed in 1996 of pancreatic cancer, shortly after completion of the Return of the Jedi radio drama. He is still missed terribly to this day.
“He was not the sort of writer who spent every waking hour at a keyboard. Drawing on an encyclopedic knowledge of science, technology, magic, weaponry – the list goes on and on – he could produce in four hours what it takes most writers to produce in eight. His office overlooked the Severn River, near Annapolis, Maryland and was entered by way of a Japanese trellis.”
~ James Luceno, life-long friend, fellow writer, and the other half of Jack McKinney.
